Tech Industry Moves: Autumn 2022

Despite the economic headwinds, the last quarter has seen a number of interesting moves in the market;

Internet and Fintech

Online payments company Paysafe has appointed Alex Gersh as its new CFO. Previously, Gersh worked as CFO at Sportradar Group, a sports tech company analysing data for the sports betting industry. The company has also hired Rob Gatto as Chief Revenue Officer recently.

Babylon, a healthcare app company providing medical advice for patients, appoints David Humphreys as CFO. Humphreys is promoted from the role of Finance Director after the 2 years’ tenure. The company also hires Andrew Hine as VP of the EMEA & Asia Go-to-Market Team.

1Password, a provider of software for managing passwords securely, has hired Steve Won as CPO. Won was the former VP of Product at an ecommerce platform company Shogun.

Holidu, who provide a search engine for renting holiday homes, has appointed Robin Müller as VP of Engineering.

Grindr, the popular dating app for gay, bi and trans communities, has named George Arison as CEO.

London-based online clothing retailer Matchesfashion appoints former head of logistics at Asos and Farfetch Stuart Hill, as its new COO.

Pets at Home, an ecommerce business specialized in items for pets, has hired Rachel Mooney as its new Chief People Officer. Mooney was CPO at Monzo Bank until earlier this year.

Online payment service provider AstroPay announces the appointment of Fayyaz Ansari as CFO.

SME lender Funding Circle has appointed Greig McEwan as CTO. McEwan was the interim CTO of sender, a freight-forwarder platform provider.

DAZN has announced that they have hired Dan Johnson as SVP of Group Communications.

Games and Gambling

Mobile game publisher Scopely appoints Phil Hardin as its new CFO. Hardin had served in Amazon for 15 years and held various roles including CFO of Amazon Advertising and Head of Investor Relations.

Video game developer and publisher FunPlus appoints Jacob Krüger as the new User Acquisition Director. Krüger is an industry veteran who has held user acquisition and marketing positions in Miniclip, Scopely and Social Point.

Sophie Vo joins Savage Game Studios as General Manager. Vo was a Game Lead at Rovio previously.

British games developer Lockwood Publishing announced three executive hires – Ivee Feria-Padua as Product Director, Jay Cho as Director of Production and Ketan Vachhani as Director of Cyber Security.

Leading MOBA developer Riot Games appoints Andrei Van Roon as Head of League Studios.

Gambling group Aristocrat announces the promotion of Sally Denby to CFO. Denby has worked in the company for almost 8 years, serving multiple finance roles until now.

Mobile game developer Tripledot Studios names Daniel Freireich as Chief Games Officer.

Game development service provider Keywords Studios Group appoints Jon Hauck as COO. Hauck started working for Keywords as CFO in 2019 and became interim COO this year in addition to his role in finance.

Rank Group, the British gambling operator, has appointed Hazel Boyle as Chief People Officer.

Greentube, the digital gaming division of the international gambling company Novomatic, has appointed Felipe Ludeña as its first Chief Sportsbook Officer.

Soft2bet, a casino and sportsbook platform developer, hires Ed Clark as Head of Sportsbook.

Spotlight Sports Group, a sport betting data provider, announces the appointment of new CEO Mark Renshaw. Renshaw is the former COO.

Software

Shopify announces two key management changes – Kaz Nejatian as COO and Jeff Hoffmeister as CFO. Nejatian led the product team as the VP of Product previously. Hoffmeister was a Co-Head of Americas Tech Banking at Morgan Stanley.

Identity verification and authentication solutions provider Onfido appoints Yuelin Li Chief Product Officer. Li is promoted from Chief Strategy Officer.

Finastra, a London-based financial applications provider, has appointed Helen Cook as Chief People Officer.

Mandata, a software provider for the haulage industry, appoints Chris Farnath as Chief Customer Officer.

Limitless, a customer service software company, has appointed Iain Regan as Chief Customer Officer.

Cloud-based treasury management solution provider Hazeltree appoints Paul Higdon as CTO.

Board, a provider of BI and CPM (Corporate Performance Management) software vendor, appoints Nelson Petracek as CTO. Petracek is a former CTO of TIBCO Software.

Sycurio, an UK-based payment security software provider, hires Nick Viney as its new CEO.

Payroll and HR software company Mercans appoints Tatjana Domovits as its Group CEO.
