About Neon River

Neon River is an executive search firm with deep experience of working with mobile game companies.

We’ve worked with studios including King, Miniclip, Wooga, Ten Square Games and Metacore.

We have only used data on employees based in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and candidates based outside of these geographies are not counted as part of our statistics.

The data in this report is based on data from LinkedIn and it is worth noting that whilst many people have a LinkedIn profile, not every employee of every mobile games company has an accurate, up to date profile. It is best therefore to view the statistics within this report as being indicative of patterns and trends rather than being wholly accurate and complete statistics to be taken as fact.

The data used in this report has been collated during December 2025, and we will provide updated reports every six months.

The data makes one trend unmistakably clear: Türkiye has become the dominant growth hub for mobile games in EMEA. This is not a sudden phenomenon, but the result of a decade of ecosystem compounding. The success of companies such as Peak Games, Dream Games, Rollic and others has done more than produce breakout titles - it has trained senior talent, created repeatable operating models, and shown founders, investors and employees alike what “world-class” execution in mobile games actually looks like.

As teams spin out, veterans become first-time founders, and early employees step into leadership roles, the Turkish ecosystem continues to regenerate itself. Access to experienced game designers, product leaders, UA specialists and live-ops talent - combined with a strong understanding of how to scale studios efficiently - has created a powerful blueprint for success that newer companies are clearly following.

Equally striking is who is not represented. Western Europe and Scandinavia - historically some of the strongest regions for games talent - do not feature in this year’s fastest-growing cohort. This likely reflects the lingering impact of a tough post-Covid market: slower funding, increased caution around hiring, and a greater focus on efficiency over headcount growth. Many high-quality studios remain active in these regions, but fewer are currently scaling at pace.

At Neon River, we work closely with mobile games companies at exactly these moments of inflection - from early scale-up through to international growth. With deep experience partnering with studios such as King, Miniclip, Wooga, Ten Square Games and Metacore, we see these ecosystem dynamics first-hand and help teams build the leadership and technical capability required to grow sustainably in challenging markets.
