About Hg

Hg was founded (as HgCapital) when the executives of Mercury Private Equity negotiated the status of fully-independent partner of owner Merrill Lynch. Since then, Hg has built a reputation as one of Europe’s leading private equity firms focused on mission-critical software and services. It manages over €65bn in assets, with more than 50 portfolio companies under its umbrella and dozens more through its sector-specialist funds.

Hg supports growth via active operational involvement: helping its portfolio scale engineering capabilities, adopt robust delivery practices, navigate regulatory demands and achieve sustainable revenue growth. The firm’s strategy involves long holding periods, deep sector knowledge and hands-on resources to back entrepreneurial leadership in software businesses.
