Career History

Contentsquare is a digital experience platform headquartered in Paris, helping companies understand customer behaviour online through analytics, insights and AI-driven features that improve conversion, retention and overall experience. The company has raised around $1.4bn in total funding, including a $600m Series F round in 2022 (comprising $400m in equity and $200m in debt) that valued it at roughly $5.6bn. Major investors include SoftBank Vision Fund 2, BlackRock, Bpifrance, KKR and LionTree, alongside earlier backers such as Eurazeo and Highland Europe.

Patrick Chatain has been Chief Technology Officer since 2017, responsible for its engineering, product and data teams. Under his leadership, the Experience Intelligence platform was expanded in late 2024 with advanced AI capabilities designed to accelerate conversion, retention and net promoter score improvements. He also led improvements in “CS Live”, including real-time performance metrics, error analysis and speed analytics.

Chatain holds a BSc in Physics from Pierre and Marie Curie University.
