About MTG

Modern Times Group (MTG) is a Swedish gaming group that owns and operates a portfolio of mobile and PC games companies. Its studios include Plarium, InnoGames, Hutch, Ninja Kiwi, Snowprint, Futureplay and PlaySimple, with games spanning strategy, racing, tactical, tower defence and casual word genres.

MTG has expanded its gaming portfolio through acquisitions of studios behind several established titles. InnoGames is known for strategy games including Forge of Empires, while Snowprint specialises in mid-core tactical games such as Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus. MTG also acquired Plarium, the developer and publisher behind RAID: Shadow Legends in February 2025.

In 2026, MTG reorganised its games businesses into two operating divisions: Playamp (mid-core games) and PlaySimple (casual games). Playamp, focused on IAP-driven mid-core games, brings together Plarium, InnoGames, Hutch, Ninja Kiwi, Snowprint and Futureplay, whereas PlaySimple focuses on free-to-play mobile word games. MTG’s strategy is strongly acquisition-driven, placing it among the most active investors in mobile and online games.
