About Zopa
Zopa is a UK digital bank offering savings, current accounts, personal loans, credit cards, car finance and investment products through its mobile platform. Founded in 2005 as a peer-to-peer lender by a team from the internet banking company Egg Banking, Zopa later transitioned into banking and launched Zopa Bank in 2020. It has since positioned itself as a technology-led alternative to traditional high-street banks.
The company has grown to around 1.7 million customers. In 2025, revenue increased by 24% to £377m, while underlying profit before tax reached £65m. Deposits rose to £6.4bn and loans on its balance sheet reached £3.8bn. During the year, Zopa also launched Biscuit, its first current account and an investment product as it continued expanding beyond its traditional lending and savings business.
Zopa raised £68m in equity funding in December 2024 in a round led by A.P. Moller Holding and existing investors, marking the company’s continued status as a unicorn.
