About Tide

Tide was founded in 2015 as a digital financial platform focused on small businesses and the self-employed. In the UK, the company now serves more than 900,000 businesses and accounts for around 15% of the small business banking market. India has also emerged as a major growth market, with Tide surpassing 1.1 million members there by May 2026, less than four years after launching in the country. Across its markets, including Germany and France, Tide surpassed two million members globally in May 2026.

Rather than operating solely as a business banking provider, Tide has positioned itself as a broader business management platform. Its offering combines business accounts with products and tools spanning payments, lending, accounting, savings and administrative services, designed to help sole traders and small companies manage more of their operations from one platform.

In September 2025, Tide was valued at $1.5bn following a $120m funding round led by TPG.
