About Monzo

Monzo was launched in London in 2015 with the aim of building a digital alternative to traditional high-street banking. Starting with its distinctive hot-coral prepaid card and mobile app, the company has grown into one of the UK’s largest digital banks, reaching 15.2 million customers by the end of its 2026 financial year. Revenue increased 39% to £1.7bn during the year, while the company was valued at around $6bn in its latest secondary share sale.

The company has expanded well beyond its original current account, with products spanning savings, credit cards and loans, investments, pensions, insurance and paid subscription plans. It also operates a growing business banking division, while almost half of its monthly active customers now use Monzo as their primary bank.
