Career History

Quantexa is a SaaS company specialising in financial crime, risk and compliance. Its platform is widely adopted by banks, insurers and government agencies because it unifies siloed data and applies AI-driven graph analytics to expose hidden relationships, enabling faster fraud detection, anti-money-laundering compliance and better risk decisions. Backed by investors including Warburg Pincus, Dawn Capital and HSBC, Quantexa reached a valuation of roughly $2.6bn following its 2025 Series F round. Hutton joined the company in 2016 as one of its earliest senior leaders and was appointed CTO soon after, taking responsibility for shaping the platform’s architecture, guiding engineering teams, and scaling the product as Quantexa moved from startup to global provider.

Under his leadership the firm has expanded beyond its initial financial-crime focus to deliver solutions for KYC, customer intelligence, fraud detection, and public-sector risk. Hutton also oversaw the development of “Q Assist,” Quantexa’s generative AI suite launched in 2024, which embeds context-aware AI into enterprise decision workflows.

Before joining Quantexa, Hutton built a long career in financial-crime software, serving as Fraud Solutions Director at SAS Institute and earlier as Head of Insurance Fraud Solutions at Detica. He holds an MSc in Computer Engineering from the University of Southampton.
